Privacy Policy

Voca Note · Effective September 29, 2026

1. Information stored on your device

No sign-in is required. Words, meanings, example sentences, wordbook group names, learning and highlight marks, and garden progress are stored on your device by default. On supported Apple devices, you may use iCloud backup. Backup files are copied or downloaded by you.

2. Importing from Google Docs

Google Docs import is available only in the web version and only when you choose it. The app sends the link to a publicly shared document to the VocaNote relay server, which retrieves the document and returns it to the app. Imported content is not retained on VocaNote servers. Your hosting provider may process connection information while handling the request.

3. Optional usage analytics

Google Analytics for Firebase receives usage analytics only if you turn on “Share usage analytics to improve Voca Note” in Settings in the iOS app where Firebase is connected. This includes visits by screen and group category, review starts and completions, the number of unique words learned each day, garden theme selection and watering, and office screen use. We do not send words, meanings, example sentences, personal wordbook names, or word IDs that you enter.

4. Information an analytics service may process

Google Analytics SDK may process an app-instance identifier, app, operating system and device information, and app launch, session and engagement information. Approximate region may be inferred from an IP address. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or ad personalization. Google may process data on servers outside your country. Analytics sharing is optional and other app features remain available when it is off. You can turn it off at any time in Settings. Turning it off stops future collection but does not immediately delete data already sent.

5. Advertising and payments

The current version does not provide advertising, in-app purchases, or subscriptions. If advertising or payments are introduced later, we will explain the relevant data handling and terms in this policy and in the app before they take effect, and obtain any required consent.

6. Retention and deletion

On-device records remain until you delete the app data or the app. You must separately delete iCloud or operating-system backups and JSON files you created from their storage locations. VocaNote does not keep accounts, wordbooks, or learning records on its own servers, so we cannot access or delete records stored on your device for you.

7. Questions and policy changes

For privacy questions, email vocanote.support@gmail.com. Your email address and message are used only to respond, and unnecessary information is deleted after handling your request. If our data handling changes, we will provide notice in this policy and in the app before the change takes effect.
